A kokarin da take yi na taimakawa wajen habaka sha'anin ilimi a jihar Zamfara, kungiyar matasan Hausa/Fulani ta HAFYDOF ta kai tallafin kayan karatu a wata rugar Fulani ta Tudun Dan Sarki, da kuma kauyen Furfuri dake karamar hukumar mulki ta Bungudu dake jihar Zamfara.

Mai magana da yawun bakin kungiyar, Kwamared Jibril Al-Mustapha Gusau ya bayyanawa wakilin Zuma Times Hausa cewa, "Mun kawo tallafin kayan rubutu ne ga daukacin daliban wannan makaranta dake cikin wannan karkara. Domin mu bayar da tamu gudunmawa wajen habaka ilimi a fadin jihar nan, inda muka tallafa wa yara 300 da kayan karatu. Haka kuma, mun karantar da yaran wasu darussa kamar Turanci, da Lissafi da kuma Hausa. Sannan mun tattauna da shugabannin wannan yanki, mun fahimci irin damuwar da suke da ita akan ilimi. Kuma in Allah ya yarda za mu cigaba da ziyarar yankunan karkara dake fadin jihar nan lokaci zuwa lokaci domin kai tallafi ga makarantun 'ya 'yan talakawa".

Kwamred Jibril ya kara da cewa, "Ina kira ga kungiyoyin sa kai na matasa dake fadin jihar nan ta Zamfara da su mayar da hankali wajen taimakawa yara masu tasowa domin su  taimaka wajen habaka sha'anin ilimi".

Kimanin yara 2,000 ne dai kungiyar ta Hausa/Fulani reshen jihar Zamfara take sa ran za su amfana da wannan shiri na bunkasa ilimi a cikin shekarar nan da muke ciki.

Senate Moves To Create Another University from ABU

The Senate has set in machinery to create another University from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria with a bill to upgrade the institution's college of Agriculture, Kabba to a University.

To this effect, a public hearing on the bill was organised on Thursday by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, chaired by Senator Barau Jibrin (APC, Kano).

Speaking during the public hearing, the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki said the institution when established would be known as Federal University of Agriculture, Kabba, Kogi State.

He said the institution when established would produce the needed manpower for the attainment of food security in the country.

"It will produce manpower with capabilities not to only understand agricultural need of Nigeria as a nation but also to exploit existing agro-infrastructure and improve on it to develop new ones, "he said.

He said the moves to upgrade four Federal Colleges of Education (Kano, Zaria, Akure and Oweri to Universities was to address the problem of paucity of qualified teachers in the country.

Also speaking, Senator Barau said the upgrading of the ABU college of Agriculture to university will provide the holistic development of Agricultural education, knowledge and skills that will help the country into accelerated growth, enhance annual income and generate employment in the agricultural sector

WAEC 2017 RELEASED: ZAMFARA'S STUDENTS WAITING- Zamfara Circle

A youths movement in Zamfara State, that's struggling for the betterment of the State's affairs standard, i.e. Zamfara Circle, have reacted on the nonpayment of WAEC 2017 fees for the students of public schools in Zamfara State. In a statement shared by it's State Vice Chairman, Malam Ibrahim Bello Zauma says:
"As the 2017 WAEC results started to hit screens, Zamfara State's students awaiting result are getting strong pulmonary thumping with the fear that theirs may not be forth-coming anytime soon like the previous results.

This is indeed worrying because the delay in the settlement of SSCE fees to the examination bodies in the last six years of Shehi's administration has cost Zamfara a terrible educational loss. Many a secondary school leavers could not further their education for years.

While the children of the common men are being educationally stagnated albeit deliberately and their little learning exploited to serve the people who persecuted them by making them their ''social media campaigners'', their own children are enrolled in the best of schools, exposed to the best of instructions using best instructional materials in the most conducive environment.

There is no reason this time around to misplace priority again or delay the payment of the fees on flimsy grounds. It is in our living memory how from 2014 to 2016 the SSCE results were made to hang in the world of unknown for a long time overlapping academic sessions in the tertiary institutions within which they could enroll and continue with their education. Alas! Time elapsed in futility! Some of these youths, victims of insensitivity end up roaming the streets, some getting into drug abuse and become social nuisance.

The state government should not allow the painful history to repeat itself. We have had enough of this tragedy and we expect no more reverse gear in this journey of life. Our state have already made a stinking history of having 1000000 (One Million) out of the the total of 7000000 (Seven Million) out of school children in Nigeria! (UNICEF 2013). More recently, the HILWA 2016 statistics shows that the percentage of out-of-school children hits about 76% while the pupil teacher ration is 50:1."

Zauma added that: "Our plea is that His Execellency #GovernorYari should look into this issue promptly with the view to saving the future of our sons daughters and brothers, so that they can further their education and stay off streets.
#ReclaimZamfara".

I am Richer Than Dangote- Sen. Marafa

Senator Garba Marafa has stated that as far as he is concerned, he is richer than Aliko Dangote.

He said: "I am extremely rich because to me richness is in the mind, it is not how much you have".

The senator said that despite the fact that he has been a senator for six years, he still lives in a rented house.

When asked why?,  He said he does not have the money to buy a house in Abuja because he is always conscious of his responsibilities.

The senator added that when people voted him, he promised that on every naira he gets, he would spend 60 kobo on them and 40 kobo on himself and he is determined to keep this promise. 

Police to recruit 155,000 personnel in 5 years-IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Idris has said the police will recruit 155,000 personnel within five years to bridge the gap of manpower shortage in the organisation.

Idris, who made the disclosure Friday in Kano while briefing newsmen at Government House Kano, said 31,000 personnel would be recruited every year for five years.

He said the Nigerian Police Force was faced with serious shortage of manpower, noting that between 2011 and 2016, the force had not recruit ranks and files personnel.

He said, “We have serious gap of manpower but force is determined to bridge the gap. We have presented a proposal to the federal government for the recruitment of 31,000 personnel annually for five years.

“We want make the force to work according to the standard of the United Nation chatter of one police man to 400 people.”

He said the police would continue to support other security agencies to ensure security of lives and properties of the citizenry.

On the quit notice issued to Igbo people by some northern youth’s organizations, the inspector general of police, said no single individual had the authority to eject Igbo people or any other tribe from any section of the country.

“Nobody has the authority to intimidate anybody to leave any part of this country unwillingly. Everybody has the right to stay where he/she wants. All I want to say is that people should respect the religion, culture and tradition of each other so that we can have peace and harmony in the country, but nobody has the power to eject any Nigerian
from a section of this country,” he assured.

The IGP, who was in the state for a condolence visit over the death of Danmasanin Kano, late Yusuf Maitama Sule, said the demise of the late orator was great loss to the nation.
